Heres a pic of that Vavoom-only level I'm working on.

Well actually I tell a lie. I started a new one, since the old one was kinda crappy :/

Anyway, this pic is dark, so view it against a dark background!

http://slayer226.wronger.com/vslyr1_1.jpg

It doesn't include any slopes/water/3d floors at the moment (although I tried to add some slopes, didn't work :/).

I am debating wether to make it a short 'starting level' type thing and create a series of levels, or wether to make it one big standalone level...

(the upside of it being short is that it can be released earlier ;))

When I tried to check out the screenshot I got a redirection and then a 404. Best might be if you upload it at http://www.vavoom-engine.com/upload.php and drop a mail to Janis so he can put it somewhere where it'll be viewable over the web so we can all see it.

What bottom link? As for cave style, your call, I guess the architecture pretty much says which one is better suited.

Looks cool.

I had no problems with screenshot. Maybe it's a browser problem (I'm using Netscape 6).

LOL, it was really a browser issue... at work we have only crap IE 6, and it didn't work. Now at home it works fine on Mozilla and Netscape 4, and it doesn't on IE 4 (if you want to know why I have this one installed, don't ask me but M$).

As for the screenshot itself, it looks like... DOOM. What a surprise. ;)

Works fine for me too on a Windoze machine.

I think the hint here for Ram' is just what he said: "at work". He probably tripped an internet filter somewhere.

Sounds believable (the net we have at work is somewhat degenerated), except for the part that I had the same prob with IE from home where Netscape (both versions) worked just fine.

If your using Windows ME
try the following virus fix.

1.] Back up all important data
2.] Buy a Win XP or Win 98 CD
3.] Goto the Dos prompt w/ a boot disk
4.] type format c:
5.] Install Win XP or Win 98
6.] Crush the Win ME cd it's infested with a virus

NOTE: The virus Win ME is infested w/ is called Win ME

(This is a joke :);):) but then again so is Win ME--it does not work well so replacing it with either XP Corporate Ed. or 98 is prob. a good idea.)

Windows ME worked better than Win98 for me, but now I have XP and its 'even even' better :P

The link works fine for me and I'm using IE6.

I'll keep working on it and make it a decent sized level. I'm also looking forward to the extra lighting effects that Janis said he'd add (flickering lights, etc). Theres one red light room that would look much cooler if the light blinked randomly ;)
