Custom Games

Hey guys, I'm sorry for the moronic question, but I can't seem to figure out how to load custom games. I've looked at the the Vavoom Text File and the Wiki where I read up on custom games and after a while at trying still couldn't get the game to load.
Let me specify a little...

I have the latest version 1.26 and the only extra I have is the 3d models.

Vavoom can play older wads like Perdition's Gate, right? Thats the wad I've been trying to load. I assume that it can, but that is only an assumption.

Just load the wad file using -file parameter (or "Files" box in launcher).
